Campervan Bathroom Options We Offer at Big Bear Vans
When planning your custom campervan, concerns about choosing a bathroom are a common issue. Often, our clients are unsure which type of shower or toilet to select for their campervan.
At Big Bear Vans, we offer a range of space-efficient bathroom options. From a compact aluminium shower to a self-sealing flush toilet, you can choose a setup that fits your van’s layout.
This guide walks you through the van bathroom options we offer, so you can choose what works best for your custom build.
Shower Options We Offer
At Big Bear Vans, we offer a variety of shower options to our clients. The type of shower that is best for you depends on your van’s layout and travel style. Here are some shower options you can select from:
1. Aluminium Shower Box
The aluminium shower box is one of our best and most popular indoor showers for campervans. This shower is super lightweight, easy to clean, and resistant to mold and rust. It means you don’t have to worry about the shower cracking or warping.
Our exclusive aluminum shower box from Vankea comes in four sizes:
25" XS (62 cm)
28" S (72 cm)
32" M (82 cm)
36" L (92 cm)
You can also choose the colour of the shower box from:
Charcoal Black
Off-White
Any type of toilet can fit in this shower box. You can also add other accessories to it:
Shampoodispensers: To store your shampoo, conditioner, etc.
L-tracks: To store your gear accessories.
Arollingcurtain: For privacy. It comes in white & black colours.
A black or silver showerfaucet.
Availability of hot&coldwater
This aluminium shower box is mostly placed inside the van, in front of your campervan kitchen.
Benefits:
EasytoClean:
The waterproof walls of the aluminum shower wipe down quickly and don't hold onto moisture or smells.
VeryDurable:
The aluminium material is tough
resistant to dents
and designed to last for years of travel.
2. Outdoor Shower
We install outdoor showers in almost all of our campervans. Our shower system is built into a bench and has access to both hot & cold water.
You can use a pull-outcurtain for privacy & a Bamboomat for convenience.
The outdoor shower is best for your dirty gear and beach days.
Benefits:
KeeptheVanDry: You shower outside, so water, sand, and mud stay out of your living space.
SavesInteriorSpace: You don't need to dedicate a valuable indoor room to a full shower stall.
Versatility: Use it for washing gear, cleaning pets, or filling buckets without needing an indoor tap.
3. Inside the Bench Shower
If you prefer something more compact and multifunctional, then the inside the bench shower is the best option for you.
In this shower system, we install a showerfaucet and a showerpan inside the bench, along with a toilet. You get a sitting place as well as a bathroom in a single unit. Apull-outcurtain can also be used for extra privacy.
Benefits:
SavesSpace: The shower is hidden inside a bench seat, so it doesn't take up extra floor space when you're not using it.
Private: You can shower inside the van, protected from the weather and with full privacy.
CleanandContained: It’s a dedicated, waterproof space that safely contains water, keeping the rest of your van dry.
4. Pull-out/Foldable Shower
Another option is a pull-out or a foldable shower if you want to save space by not installing an aluminium shower box.
You can install this pull-out shower under the stationary bed or inside the kitchen cabinet.
HowitWorks:
You unlock the shower pan
it falls
and then you have a faucet
a handheld showersprayer
and a magneticcurtain that goes all the way up and hooks to the hooks on the ceiling.
Benefits:
SavesRoomWhenStored: The shower system packs away into a cabinet or under-the–bed-garage, freeing up all your floor and living space.
Lightweight: The simple design adds very little extra weight to your van's build.
Shower Positions
The position of the shower in a campervan depends entirely upon the kind of shower you choose. Mostly, the positions of a shower are the following:
1. Inside the Van Shower
Inside your campervan, you can position the shower at multiple places, like:
Aluminiumshowerbox in front of the kitchen and beside the front swivel seats.
Insidethebenchshower beside the dinette bed system.
Foldableshower under the stationary bed or hidden in the kitchen cabinet.
2. Rear Shower
Outdoorshower integrated in the dinette bench.
Rearbathroom:
It has a shower
toilet
vanity
bamboomat
and a curtain. The rear bathroom can also serve as a reargarage to store your gear.
Toilet Options We Offer
At Big Bear Vans, we’ve tried & tested several campervan-friendly toilets and selected the best ones for you. Here are the options you can choose from:
1. Self-Sealing Dry Flush Toilet
The dry Flush toilet is a self-sealing, odorless, and waterless toilet that uses AutomaticThermalWasteDisposalTechnology. It features a rechargeable battery, and with one full charge, you can use it for 70-100 times.
Howitworks:
First, remove the fastenings of the toilet, and then insert the roll of garbage bag into it (30 uses per roll).
After putting the fastenings, pour the coagulant in the toilet and do your deed.
When you’re done, just press the “start key” to start the sealing process.
The waste bag will automatically seal, and the packaged waste will drop out.
You don’t have to see or smell anything, and there will be no leaks or spills.
The toilet comes with 2rollsofgarbagebags (30 uses per roll), 60coagulantpouches, a chargingcable (14V/2A), and an instruction manual.
2. Modular Separating Toilet
A modular separating toilet is an odorless toilet that separates solids from liquids. The cool thing is that you can use this toilet in three ways:
ChemicalToilet:
You can use it as a chemical toilet if you’ve dump points nearby. Just add chemicals. And it’s ready to use. You just have to grab the container to easily dump it at any dumping point.
BagToilet:
If you’re camping far away from any dumping stations
you can use it as a bag toilet. First
remove the liner frame
insert the bin liner
place the lid
and use it conveniently. To dump
grab the bag
give it a twist
tie it
and throw it away.
CompostingToilet:
You can use the modular separating toilet as a composting toilet by adding only some wood chips to it. If it doesn’t decompose properly
you can just empty it into a compost pile.
The toilet comes with a urinecompartment, an ecoorchemicalcompartment (your choice), a pookerstick, and a spraybottle.
3. Cassette Toilet
The cassette toilet features:
10L freshwater container with up to 100flushes.
The large 12L sewage tank, which reduces emptying frequency.
A built-in storage bin for toilet paper
This portable toilet also has a removable seat for easy cleaning and a rotating elbow for clean, distant waste disposal. A scrollingcolordisplay shows the sewage tank level to prevent overflows effectively.
4. Dry Flush Electric Toilet
Waterless & chemical-free, this electric toilet uses a cartridgesystem. It is a 100% odorless and easy-to-use toilet.
Howitworks:
After using the toilet, just press the button.
The motor will tightly twist and seal the waste bag, locking in odor completely. A clean bag will line the bowl after every flush.
When the cartridge becomes full, simply remove the black, air-tight bag to empty it.
This electric toilet comes with a battery&charger, a bottle of peepowder, and 2cartridges. Each cartridge (comes with 11cartridges) is usable for 15 solid flushes or 28 flushes when using the included pee powder.
5. Composting Portable Toilet
The composting portable toilet is a waterless, chemical-free & odorless toilet.
This portable toilet has a large separator that keeps solids and liquids separate to prevent any odor.
The urine holder has a capacity of 1.2gallons, and the solid waste holder has a capacity of 1.6gallons.
You can use a pee powder to control odor. The toilet also comes with 10recycledbags.
Position of Toilets in Campervan
Toilets are mostly placed inside an aluminium shower box or a rear bathroom. If you don’t prefer to have a shower box in your campervan, then the portable toilet can be placed under the dinette bench.
